Day 5: How God Sees You

Audio: Malik Ewan
Ezekiel 16:6: And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.

We all have a story worth telling.

One summer morning I was lying down in bed. By this point in life, I had taken “wet dreams” to a different level by concocting my own dreams and letting them play out to my satisfaction. Now there I lay in my “mess” when I started to feel guilty about my thoughts and actions. Right there, something clicked. I felt filthy. Immediately I started to repent for all the times I “messed up”. God had come for me in my filthy state and the whole day I was conscious about it. Today, I can trace back any effort to break free from sexual immorality to that encounter.

We all know God sees us always, yet we are not always conscious of it. We may even blatantly ignore God’s presence when we want to do wrong and follow our fleshly lusts instead. (Isn’t it interesting that the only thing described in the scriptures as “desperately wicked” is the heart? Jeremiah 17:9).

We were created to entertain God’s presence, but we find ourselves entertaining other “presents” to our own detriment. These sugar-coated traps of lust and sexual pleasures seem to be irresistible to our carnal appetites and have the added powers of draining our consciousness of God’s presence.

Yet, God still seeks us out when we drift from His presence. Today, if you are a Hagar cast out of the house of promise as a result of breaking God’s covenant God wants you to know that He sees you. Yes, though we have a wicked heart, though we are polluted in our own blood, though we are messed up people, God still wants to show us His love.

And that is all because of where God wants to take us. He created us with eternity in mind. From the moment man entered the world, God saw the cross of calvary where His blood would need to be shed. He saw the resurrected people called His church walking in purity. He saw an eternity with His prized possession reigning forever at the end of all time and God said, It is worth it.

That’s something we can barely understand but it is something we must be thankful for! God sees us renewed in Him. He sees us free from sexual immorality. He sees us free from all forms of sexual sin! And today, if you are not in this state that He planned for you, there’s a lot of work to be done in surrendering your whole heart to His plan.

Let’s pray…

Prayer Starter

Heavenly Father, even as you have shown your great love, help me not to take your grace for granted. Help me to live above sin and walk holy in you. Help me not to ever forgot your sacrifice of blood for me.
